Juicy Oasis Terms & Conditions
Please find below our terms and conditions for Juicy Oasis. Please read them carefully and do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
General Cancellation/Refund Policy:
We highly recommend holiday insurance for all guests, and this must be bought independently as it is not included in the retreat booking.
If, for whatever reason, you need to cancel your retreat place, we will require confirmation in writing, and the following refund policy will apply:
Within 24 hours after your booking is confirmed:
You can cancel and receive a full refund (we must be notified via email during this time).
24 hours after booking, the following conditions will apply:
- A full refund minus €50 admin charge will be provided for all cancellations up to 90 days prior to the start day of the booked retreat.
- A 50% refund will be provided on cancellations between 89 - 30 days prior to the start day of the booked retreat.
- No refund will be provided on cancellations between 29-0 days prior to the start date of the booked retreat.
It is the guest's responsibility to check that the booking confirmation details are correct, i.e dates, room type and number of guests. If there is an error, please let us know within 24 hours of booking so that we can make any amendments.
Any promotional inclusions (such as products offered or discounts) will be deducted from any refund if applicable.
Premature Leaving or Failing to Arrive at the Retreat:
No refund/credit will be provided for premature departure from the retreat or failure to arrive for any reason. Should you not arrive at the retreat before 09.00 on Monday and should you fail to notify us in writing that you will be arriving late, we will assume you are not attending and we therefore have the right to release your ‘room’ to another guest.
For this reason, we always strongly advise that all guests take adequate travel/holiday insurance to cover themselves in case of any eventuality.
Double or Twin Bookings: No Partial Refunds will be Provided: If a room is booked for two guests and one guest is unable to attend, the booking would need to be cancelled in its entirety, and the above refund policy will apply. Alternatively, if one of the guests in the shared room cancels, either the remaining guest will be required to upgrade to ‘single occupancy’ and pay the balance, or a replacement guest can be added to the reservation and the booking amended. There is no additional cost to upgrading the booking or amending the guest names in this scenario.
No refund will be provided for any ‘room’ downgrades after 24 hours from the point of booking have elapsed.
If paying via instalments, the above conditions will apply based on the entire price of your booking and not just on any instalments paid.
Instalment Payments:
- All final retreat payments are due 30 days prior to the start date of the booked retreat, unless otherwise specified. Please note that any late payments may incur additional fees. Guests whose balances are not received by the 30-day deadline risk forfeiting their retreat booking. We will try to contact you via email and telephone, but if we have not received any written communication from you and the balance payment has still not been received by this stage, your booking will be cancelled and any deposits paid will not be refunded.
- Use of credit or debit cards will not incur a surcharge if payments are cleared in full at the time of booking.
Changing Weeks:
If you would like to change your booked retreat dates more than 30 days before the start date of your booked retreat, this is possible. However, it will incur a €50 pp administration charge, plus any difference that may be applicable in the rate of the new ‘room’. If you are looking to change weeks less than 29 days before the start date of your booked week, the above cancellation policy will apply.
Changing From Single Occupancy to Double/Twin:
If you wish to add a guest to your booking, this may be possible. However, please note that we have a maximum capacity of guests that we can accommodate at the retreat. If we have not reached capacity, we would be happy to add a guest to your booking and take payment for the balance then owed. Please note that the additional guest place will only be secured on receipt of payment. The above also applies if you book the Woodland Suite and wish to upgrade to a triple or quad share.
Changing From Double/Twin Occupancy to Single:
If you wish to remove a guest from your booking more than 30 days before the start day of your retreat, we will refund the difference between the single and twin rate minus a €50 admin fee. If there are fewer than 30 days before the start day of your retreat, then no refund will be issued
Currency & Fees:
All prices and payments are in euros (€). Any GBP (£) figures shown are based on the average exchange rate. Your bank/card provider may charge a ’non-sterling' transaction fee if you pay with a non-EUR card/account. We do not add any 'non-sterling' currency fees or receive any of these funds. To avoid bank exchange rates/fees, we recommend paying from a bank account or with a card that doesn’t charge 'non-sterling' currency fees. Alternatively, we can send you a secure link for payment, where you will not encounter these fees.
Our right to refuse or cancel your booking or request that you leave the retreat:
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel your booking (and/or any accompanying guests), or request that you (and/or any accompanying guests) leave the retreat, if we deem your actions or behaviour unacceptable or offensive to others. This includes, but is not limited to: being intoxicated, under the influence of drugs, abusive, threatening, racist or inciting acts of violence either verbally, in writing, or in person. We will not tolerate bullying, racism, verbal or physical abuse of other guests or our team. If we receive written or verbal complaints from other guests or our team about your language or behaviour, our retreat team have the right to warn you that any further incidents will result in us requesting you to leave the retreat. No refund will be issued for the remaining retreat stay. Our team will assist you in arranging a transfer.
If The Retreat Has To Close For Any Reason:
If the retreat has to close for any reason, we will inform you as soon as possible. We will then hold all funds paid as a credit, redeemable against a future retreat booking with us within 18 months of the retreat closure. Juicy Oasis will not pay for any loss of flights or other costs associated with travel to the retreat that may be lost as a result of the retreat closing.
Check in and Check out:
Check-in will be from 16:00 (4 pm), and check-out will be at 11:00 (11 am). This allows the housekeeping team sufficient time for cleaning procedures and laundry. However, if you arrive at the retreat before ‘Check In’, or wish to stay after ‘Check Out’, we can store your luggage for you, and you are very welcome to use the facilities.
Payments at retreat
Please note that payment for any ‘extras’ at the retreat, such as spa treatments, shop purchases, or one-to-ones, must be made in euros using a debit or credit card, or in cash. Please note we do not accept American Express.
Promotions and Discounts
If you have a promotion or gift voucher, please telephone or email to book your place and redeem this. Please note that any purchased gift vouchers or credits are non-refundable.Discounts and supplements may vary from time to time, and Juicy Oasis can alter these at any time.
Retreat Rewards
At Juice Master Retreats, we offer a very unique loyalty reward system across all of our retreats.
As a returning guest or a new guest booking two or more consecutive weeks, you will receive a Retreat Reward room credit equal to 5% of your room booking.
If you are a loyal returning guest booking two or more consecutive weeks, we will increase this Retreat Reward room credit to 10% of your room booking.
Retreat Reward credit will be added to your room account, ready to use on any spa treatments, shop purchases, one-to-one coaching, or any other extras during your stay.
- Retreat Reward credit must be used during the stay for which it was issued.
Returning guest discount and Retreat Reward room credits do not apply in conjunction with any other offer - Unused Retreat Reward credit has no value and cannot be carried forward to future stays.
- Retreat Reward credit is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Flights and Transfers
Flights must be booked independently, following email confirmation of your retreat stay. If booking online, please wait for an electronic confirmation before booking any flights.
Passport Validity:
We advise all guests travelling from all countries to consult their local government or flight provider regarding passport validity requirements and ensure they have sufficient time remaining on their passport before travel. There have been significant changes for UK guests since Brexit, so please ensure these do not catch you out, as most travel insurers will not cover your trip for these reasons. Please don’t rely on the expiry date printed on your passport, as this may be inaccurate. We recommend checking the date of issue /expiry and ensuring your passport is not older than 10 years at the time of travel.
Transfers:
Transfers from Lisbon airport to the retreat and back are available at an additional cost from our 3rd party specialist transfer company. Please be aware that if you decide to book your transfers through a 3rd party, your flight details will be required by Tuesday before your departure at the latest. Please note that failure to do so may result in waiting extended periods of time for the next available group transfer or having to organise ‘any-time transfers’ at an additional cost.
Guests are welcome to arrange their own method of transport, such as a taxi. Please note, however, that taxis can cost approximately €220 for the one-way journey from or to Lisbon. Please be aware that the retreat is located in a remote area, and people arriving on independent transfers often get lost and are sometimes charged more for the journey. The transfer company's rates, reliability and quality of vehicles are incredibly good, and we have been working with the company for many years.
Booked transfers can be cancelled and refunded up to 72 hours prior to the date of transfer/travel. After this time, no refunds will be available for cancelled transfers, as the transfer company will still require payment for these reserved transfers.
Luggage
All of the transfers (‘Group’ and ‘Private Any-time’) can accommodate 1 x suitcase and 1 x one hand luggage bag per guest only. If you are planning on bringing more baggage than this, please inform our team prior to booking transfers, as you may require a larger vehicle, which may incur additional costs. If you do not inform us, we cannot guarantee that the vehicle will be large enough for both guests and baggage; it will be up to you to make alternative arrangements, and you will still be charged for the booked transfer.
Please be mindful that the Super pods/Cocoons/Eco pods are set away from the main hotel, and so we strongly advise that you only bring one suitcase with a maximum weight of 20kg. We cannot transport your luggage with a cart due to the terrain, so this needs to be carried by our team. For safety reasons, we need to ask that your case does not exceed 20kg. If you decide to bring a case heavier than this, unfortunately, it will be your responsibility to carry your own case to/from your Super pods/Cocoons/Eco pods. The storage in the super pods is also limited, so please only bring one case per guest.
Children
Our retreat is an ‘adult environment’ and therefore we only accept bookings for children aged 14 or over.
Dietary Requirements
We offer a nutritious ‘Juice’ plan to all of our guests (the final juice of the day is substituted with a delicious soup in the winter months), but we do not offer bespoke or tailored juices/meals. We offer vegetarian and vegan options and can cater for allergies/intolerances by omitting certain ingredients from recipes, but kindly be aware that if you have extensive allergies, juice combinations may be limited as a result, and we do need to know as soon as possible ahead of the stay, so we can source alternative ingredients if required.
Health Restrictions
If you are currently pregnant, or under medical or psychiatric supervision, you must provide a Doctor’s certificate confirming your fitness to travel and take part in the retreat, as well as notifying Juicy Oasis ahead of your arrival. Juicy Oasis is unfortunately not suitable for those with psychiatric or deep emotional issues or those looking for counselling or therapy, as our team is not professionally qualified in these areas. Our team are also not medically trained, so cannot offer any medical advice whilst at the retreat.
***All health issues including allergies MUST be disclosed at the time of booking and/or prior to your stay.***
Accessibility at the Retreat:
We do not have a medical team on site, and we therefore do not have the expertise or equipment to support people with physical disabilities who cannot take care of themselves or who do not have a carer with them. We have one accessible Divine room, with a bathroom configuration designed with wheelchair access in mind. However, please be aware that there are certain places outside that people with mobility issues may not be able to access.
Your Health and Well-being
Many health benefits are associated with regular exercise, juice cleansing and therapy treatments. However, a small number of people should not participate in certain activities and should seek medical advice. In case of any doubt, please consult a doctor before commencing physical activity/starting a juice cleanse/or receiving a treatment.
Swimming Pool and River Safety:
There is no lifeguard on duty at Juicy Oasis in either the swimming pool or the river, so swimming is at your own risk. The river often has boats and other motorised vehicles on it, so please be vigilant when swimming. Swimming in the pool or river is strictly at your own risk, and Juicy Oasis is not responsible for any bodily harm that may be caused.
Removing Items From the Room and Damages:
Anything removed from your ‘room’ besides the complimentary gifts or any damages to your ‘room’ or any of the property within your ‘room’ will automatically be deducted from your card payment. This may include the cost of repairing, replacing or redecorating. Genuine accidents will, of course, not be charged.
Dissatisfaction and Complaints:
If you are not happy with any aspect of your retreat stay, please tell the retreat manager as soon as you can, and we will endeavour to take whatever action is required. Please don’t wait to return home and email a complaint; please give us the opportunity to put matters right during your stay. You are also welcome to email the retreats team in the UK office during your stay if you do not feel comfortable addressing any matters at the retreat.
Exclusions
All information provided on the website and any written and verbal form of correspondence is correct at the time of publication. However, due to mechanical faults, weather conditions, or what insurers call ‘Acts of God’, some amenities may be temporarily unavailable. Very occasionally, we may have to vary the advertised programme due to a team member becoming unwell or injured or other unforeseen problems. Please note that certain activities are affected by the weather, and we will adapt where we can.
Team Members and Classes:
In the event of one of the team members becoming injured, ill or any emergency situation that forces them to leave the retreat, no refunds or compensation will be issued. We will do whatever we can to adapt to the situation and reduce the impact this may have on your retreat experience. However, we may not be able to get a substitute team member to replace them at such short notice. The retreat will continue to run; however, things will be adjusted to reflect the team situation. Please also note that the Juicy Oasis team can change at any time.
Juicy Oasis will not accept liability for:
- Any of the above events, or others beyond our control.
- Loss, injury, or damage (to you) or your personal property.
- Physical, medical or psychiatric conditions developing during or after your retreat.
Check that your holiday insurance policy covers these and other contingencies.
Summer/Winter Programmes
During the winter months, we replace the final juice of the day with a beautiful homemade soup, made with local and organic (where possible) produce. This is subject to weather conditions, but we usually introduce this around the start of October until April. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide the winter programme in the summer months or vice versa.
Smoking Restrictions
It is forbidden at Juicy Oasis to smoke, use e-cigarettes or vape anywhere at the retreat or the grounds. The retreat is set in a wooded area, and cigarette butts can cause devastating local fires. Anyone found smoking/vaping in the retreat or the grounds may be asked to leave the retreat, and no refund shall be given. If the housekeeping report shows you have been smoking in your ‘room’, we will have no choice but to charge a ‘deep clean’ fee of €250 to your room account.
Alcohol and Recreational Drug Restrictions
It is forbidden at Juicy Oasis to bring or consume alcohol or recreational drugs. Any guests found intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs will be asked to leave the retreat immediately, and no refund shall be given for the remainder of the stay. You will also be responsible for arranging and paying for your onward travel and alternative accommodation. Any alcohol found on the premises will be confiscated and given back upon checkout.
Alcohol and Transfer from the Airport
If we have reason to believe you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs and/or you are abusive verbally or physically in any way to any of our team or representatives, we have the right to refuse you to embark on the transfer to the retreat, and you will be left at the airport. You will not be refunded for the transfer or any time missed at the retreat. You will have to find your own alternative accommodation and transfer to the retreat the following day when you are no longer under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Abusive Behaviour
If you are abusive or threatening verbally or physically at any time during your retreat stay, you will be asked to leave the retreat with immediate effect. You will not receive a refund for the remaining of your retreat stay and you will need to arrange and pay for your onward travel and alternative accommodation.
Selling and Soliciting:
Whilst at the retreat, guests are prohibited from selling or soliciting products or services. We want our lovely guests to enjoy a peaceful break, and we do not want them to be put in a compromised position or disturbed during their time on retreat.
Assumption of Risk
By agreeing to these terms and conditions, I/we state that I/we wish to participate in the retreat experience and all the activities, which could include but are not limited to: aerobic & resistance exercise, racket sports, yoga, pilates, tai chi, running, walks, indoor cycling, mini trampolining, volley ball, ultimate football, dodge ball, sauna, swimming (pool and river), ice plunge pool, hot pool and therapy treatments such as clinical massage, osteopathy, myofascial therapy, cryogenic treatment, rain forest massage and colonic hydrotherapy. I/we realise that my/our participation involves the risk of injury and even the possibility of death. Furthermore, I/we confirm that I/we are voluntarily engaging in an acceptable level of exercise and Juice Master and Juicy Oasis are not responsible for any injuries or losses incurred whilst at the retreat, after the retreat or during the transfer.
If I/we suffer from any health conditions, including but not limited to the following, I/we confirm that I/we have either consulted with a doctor before participating in physical activity/a juice detox/receiving treatment, or I/we am accepting full responsibility for my/our own health and I/we acknowledge the risk involved:
Bone or joint or back problem/pain; high or low blood pressure; surgery or recent injury; Diabetes or any other metabolic disease; raised cholesterol; heart condition; cancer; pain in your chest when you do physical exercise; unusual shortness of breath at rest or with mild exertion; pregnant; spells of severe dizziness or have lost consciousness; Epilepsy; angina.
I agree on behalf of all persons detailed on the booking that I/we have read these booking conditions and agree to be bound by them.This contract is entered into under the laws of the United Kingdom, and in agreeing to these terms and conditions, you are doing so on behalf of yourself and any other parties included in your booking.
